• ◆ Hand reamer 3120 and cutting fluid
• ◆ Drift 3121

Test sequence

• ‒ Clean and check cylinder head. Cylinder heads in which the valve seats can no longer be reworked, or cylinder heads which have already been machined to the minimum dimension (height) =>Page15-19, item 7, or already have service version valve guides fitted, are not suitable to have the valve guides replaced.

• ‒ → Press out worn valve guides with 3121 from the camshaft side.
• ‒ Coat new guides with oil and press in with 3121 from the camshaft side (cylinder head cold) until shoulder makes contact. When doing this the cylinder head must be laying flat.

Note:

When the shoulder on guide makes contact, the pressure must not exceed 1.0 t otherwise shoulder may break off.

• ‒ Ream guides out with hand reamer 3120 using plenty of cutting fluid.
• ‒ Rework valve seats .
