Heating unit: removing and installing
  Caution
Before doing any work on the electrical installation, you should disconnect the earth battery strap.
  Note!
t  Before disconnecting the battery check anti-theft coding on the radio
t  If the battery is reconnected check the vehicle equipment (radio, clock, electric comfort system, etc.), following the indications in the Workshop Manual and/or the Operating Instructions
Removal
Firstly perform the following operations:
–  Dismount the dash panel insert: → General body - repairs, assembly work, interior; Rep. Gr.70
–  Open cap on expansion tank.
–  Close the coolant hoses of the engine bay with the tool -U-30042- and detach them from the heat exchanger.
–  Plug heat exchanger hoses.
–  Dismount dust and pollen filter including the filter box → Chapter
–  Unscrew earth connection.
–  Unscrew the hexagon nuts.

q   With shoulder and rubber washer

Installation
–  Place the heating unit together with the bulkhead and introduce the threaded bolts in the specified holes.
–  Tighten the hexagon nuts on the bulkhead, from the engine bay.
–  Connect the coolant hoses to the heat exchanger, on the engine bay.
–  Mount the dust and pollen filtre → Chapter
–  Screw earth connection.
–  Check the coolant level and refill it.
