Removing air conditioning system magnetic clutch N25 from and installing on air conditioner compressor
Removing air conditioning system magnetic clutch -N25- from and installing on air conditioner compressor

Unscrewing hexagon nut
–  Use pin wrench -3212- or counterhold -V.A.G  1616- to unscrew hexagon nut.
  N87-0235
Pulling off clutch disc
  Note
  N87-0237
If this version is the one without the 3 threads in the clutch disc, lever out the clutch disc carefully using 2 screwdrivers as illustrated.
  Note
The three hexagon bolts of puller -V.A.G  1616/1- have 1/4" threads.
  N87-10358
Pulling off poly V-belt pulley for magnetic clutch
–  Place hooks -arrow- as shown in illustration.
  Note
If hook is placed on lower edge of poly V-belt pulley, there is a danger of damaging air conditioning system magnetic clutch -N25-.
–  Pull off poly V-belt pulley with a commercially available two-arm puller, e.g. Kukko 20-10 with 100 mm long hooks.
  N87-0238
Pressing off ball bearing
  N87-0240
Pressing in ball bearing
  N87-0241
Pressing on poly V-belt pulley for air conditioning system magnetic clutch -N25-
  Note
Set compressor in place flat, or there is a danger that poly V-belt pulley could deformed when pressed on.
–  Drive back threaded bush -1-.
  N87-0239
Checking and adjusting clearance
–  Measure clearance with a depth gauge while repeatedly switching air conditioning system magnetic clutch -N25- on and off (applying a 12 V current).
t  Specification: 0.4 to 0.8 mm
–  If necessary, use spacers to adjust clearance. Pull off clutch disc to do this.
  Note
t  The clearance must lie within permitted tolerances over the complete circumference.
t  The clearance can also be measured when the air conditioner compressor is installed.
t  If the clearance is outside of the specifications, remove the clutch disc and adjust the clearance by removing or adding spacers.
