Air flow in the air distribution housing
  Note
t  To show the air flow in the air distribution housing the air is represented by the lines “A”-“A” and “B”-“B”.
t  The different flaps for the air distribution are moved in the heating by a flexible shaft, various levers and two cam disks.
   
1 - Air distributor housing
2 - Left temperature trap
q   Shown in centre position
q   The two temperature flaps, both left and right, move together (individual adjustment is not possible).
3 - Air flow to the centre console rear vent air duct and to the centre vents of the dashboard
4 - Air flow to the centre console rear vent air duct and to the centre vents of the dashboard
5 - Right temperature flap
q   Shown in centre position
q   The two temperature flaps, both left and right, move together (individual adjustment is not possible).
6 - Left foot well temperature trap
q   Shown in “closed ”position
7 - Left foot well air duct
8 - Air distribution housing crossed by the line “A”-“A”
9 - Additional heating element -Z35- with Additional air heating control unit -J604-
q   Only for vehicles fitted with a Diesel engine, depending on the vehicle equipment there is additional electric heating, see → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations
