Removal
To remove the camshaft, with the cylinder head installed in the vehicle, proceed as follows:
–  Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
–  Partially separate the air filter unit.
–  Remove the upper toothed belt guard.
–  Detach the cylinder head cover, remove the gasket.
   
–  Turn the crankshaft to the TDC position of cylinder nº 1, and check that the flywheel mark coincides with the mark made on the clutch casing.

–  Block the camshaft with adjusting rule -T20038-.
–  Centre the adjusting ruler as follows:
–  Turn the camshaft until one end of the ruler can go no further in the cylinder head. Measure the clearance that results on the other extreme of the ruler with a feeler gauge.
–  Action the camshaft until the clearance previously measured is equally distributed between the the two extremes of the feeler gauge.

–  Block the injection pump toothed wheel with tool -U-20003-.
–  Loosen the fixing bolt on the tensioning roller, and with the help of tool -U-30009-, turn it to the left.
–  Remove the idling roller, and partially separate the toothed belt, marking the direction of travel, if it is to be re-used.
–  Separate the the toothed wheel from the camshaft. To do this, it is necesary to loosen the securing bolt 1/2 turn, using the -T20018A- tool.

–  Release the toothed wheel from the cone in the shaft. To do this, the interior protection has a hole for inserting a drift and striking the toothed wheel until it comes free.
–  Alternately remove the no. 5, 1 and 3 bearing caps diagonally.
–  Next remove bearing caps no. 2 and 4.
–  Remove the camshaft.
