Removing and installing cylinder head cover Check the tool and equipment equivalence table according to the applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Torque wrench -VAG 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor.

t  Base -3314-, see equivalent → Anchor »Carry out the following work sequence« Removal: –  Remove engine cover panel → Chapter. –  Remove the noise insulation from the injector valves. –  Remove injectors (piezo injectors) → Chapter.   Caution Make sure that no cable connection is damaged when pulling connectors off. Otherwise the whole wiring harness will need to be renewed. Do not compress the pliers -3314- too firmly to separate the connectors, otherwise the support sleeve may be damaged.

–  Disconnect the vacuum line on the cylinder head cover in the -direction of the arrow-. –  Remove the vacuum hoses with bracket from their mount on the cylinder head cover.

–  Remove upper toothed belt cover, release clips -arrows- for this purpose.

–  Unscrew the securing bolts on the cylinder head cover in the sequence -6 ... 1-. –  Remove cylinder head cover. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Note the following: Safety precautions → Chapter. Rules for cleanliness → Chapter. Injection system → Chapter –  Fuel system, installation instructions 1.2 l common Rail → Chapter   Note Renew gasket for bolts if damaged. –  Manually fasten the bolts for the cylinder head cover in the sequence -1 … 6-.

–  Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm in the following order -1 ... 6-. After any work on the fuel system Connect → Vehicle diagnostic tester. Perform the function „Bleeding fuel system“ in „guided functions“ → Chapter.
