Check the tool and equipment equivalence table according to the applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter
   
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Inlay tool -10-203-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Seal extractor -3240-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor.
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1332-, see equivalent → Anchor.
t  M12 × 65 screw

»Carry out the following work sequence«
Removal:
–  Remove toothed belt from camshaft and high-pressure pump → Chapter.
–  Remove camshaft pulley and hub → Chapter.
   
–  Insert thrust piece -3240/1- into camshaft.
–  Unscrew the interior of the sealing ring extractor -3240/1- two revolutions (approx. 3 mm) from the outer part and with the knurled thumb screw lock.

–  Lubricate threaded head of oil seal extractor, place it in position and, exerting firm pressure, screw it into oil seal as far as possible.
–  Loosen knurled screw and turn inner part against camshaft until oil seal is pulled out.
Installation
  Note
The oil seal sealing lip must not be additionally oiled or greased.
–  Remove oil residues from camshaft journal using a clean cloth.

–  Apply guide sleeve -10-203- to camshaft as shown in illustration.
–  Carefully push oil seal -1- over guide sleeve and onto camshaft.

–  Press seal in using thrust piece of fitting tool -10 - 203-.
–  Install camshaft pulley and hub → Chapter.
–  Install toothed belt and adjust valve timing → Chapter.
