Removing and installing engine control unit with no ant-theft protection
Removing and installing engine control unit with no ant-theft protection
To replace the engine control unit, connect the central diagnosis -VAS 505X- and complete the guided function „Replace control unit“.
»Carry out the following work sequence«
Removal:
   
–  Switch ignition OFF.
–  Unlock the engine control unit connectors and pull them off .

–  Press clips -arrows A- outwards and pull engine control unit out to side -B-.
Installation
–  Adjust the new engine control unit.
–  Read fault memory, repair faults if necessary and then clear fault memory → Vehicle diagnostic tester„Guided fault finding“.
–  If the fault memory has been erased, you must generate the readiness code again.
–  Take vehicle for a test drive.
–  Again read control unit fault memory.
