Engine control unit: Replacement
Engine control unit: Replacement
Removal:
–  First print out or memorise the control unit identification and also the previous control unit coding → Chapter.
–  Switch ignition OFF.
   
–  Release connector from control unit and pull off.

–  Separate the bracket lugs -arrow A- and remove the engine control unit from the engine forwards -arrow B-.
Installing
–  Place the new control unit into the retaining frame.
–  Install control unit connector and lock.
–  Check the previous coding and the coding of the new control unit → Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051
–  Then interrogate the fault memory of the new engine control unit and erase the fault memory if necessary, erasing fault memory → Chapter.
–  Take vehicle for a test drive.
–  Interrogate the new control unit fault memory again.
