Removing
Removing
–  Take timing belt off camshaft sprocket → Chapter.
   
–  Rotate crankshaft to bring camshaft sprocket to TDC cyl. marking. 1. Marking on camshaft sprocket must align with marking on cylinder head cover.
–  Turn crankshaft back slightly.
–  Remove camshaft sprocket. When loosening camshaft sprocket bolt, immobilise sprocket with counterhold -T20018B-.
–  Removing the cylinder head cover → Chapter.
–  Remove housing for Hall sender.
–  Remove washer and sealing lip for Hall sender.

–  Remove connector -arrow- of the varable distribution solenoid valve.

–  Clean drive chain and chain sprockets of camshafts at the points opposite the two arrows on the bearing caps and make coloured mark to identify installation position.
  Note
t  Do not mark the chain with a punch, notch or similar.
t  Gap between the two arrows/coloured marks = 16 drive chain rollers

–  Immobilise the chain tensioner with the counterhold -T20044-.

–  Remove bearing cap 3 and 5 of inlet and exhaust camshaft.
–  Remove double bearing cap.
–  Remove both bearing caps at chain sprockets for inlet and exhaust camshafts.
–  Unscrew chain tensioner securing bolts.
–  Slacken bearing caps 2 and 4 of exhaust camshafts diagonally in alternating sequence and remove them.
–  Remove the inlet and exhaust camshafts, the chain tensioner and the counterhold -T20044-.
