Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Hand pump -SAT 1390-
Test requirements
l  No fault stored in fault memory: → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051
l  Final control diagnosis, performed → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.
l  Vacuum pipes and hose connections free of leaks.
l  Vacuum pipes not blocked/kinked
Test sequence
–  Remove engine cover.
–  Remove vacuum hose -1- from the Secondary air injection valve -N112--2-.

–  Connect hand pump -SAT 1390- to vacuum hose -1-.
  Note
Do not use compressed air during the following check!
–  Detach pressure hose from secondary air pump motor.
  Note
To do this, press in ribbed parts of coupling
–  Lightly blow into pressure hose -arrow-.
Combi-valve must be closed.
–  Operate hand vacuum pump.
Combi valve must open.
If the combi-valve does not open:
–  Renew combination valve .
