Motronic current supply relay J271 : checking > < Ignition system: repairs

Voltage supply: checking
Voltage supply: checking
–  Switch off ignition.
   
–  Detach voltage supply relay (relay position 10).

–  Measure the voltage supply with the multimeter and the measuring tool set -VAG 1594C-in the following manner:

Relay carrier (relay position 10), contactConnector, contact
2Engine earth
Specification: approx. battery voltage

If specification is not attained:
–  Carry out the following checks:
   
–  Check fuse 34.
  N24-1481
–  Check fuse -S163- (110 A) in main fuse box of the battery.
–  Check wiring connection going from positive battery terminal (terminal 30), passing through fuses -S163 and 34, to Motronic current supply relay -J271- → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
