Engine control unit fault memory: Interrogating and erasing
Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Central diagnosis -VAS 5051B- or central diagnosis -VAS 5052-, see equivalent → Anchor
Procedure:
  W00-10343
–  Connect the central diagnosis -VAS 5051B- orcentral diagnosis -VAS 5052- with the relevant cable.
–  Start engine and run at idling speed.
Only when engine does not start:
–  Switch ignition on.
Selecting vehicle system:
–  Touch the screen on “01 - Engine electronics”.
The control unit identification and coding are indicated on the display.
Selecting diagnosis function:
–  Touch the screen on “02 - Consult fault memory”.
–  If no fault is stored in engine control unit “0 fault(s) detected” is displayed.
–  If faults are stored in the engine control unit, they will be displayed as a list.
–  Press ← key.
–  Touch the screen on “05 - Erase fault memory”.
–  Key in“06 - End data transfer”.
