Glow plugs: checking.

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Auxiliary cable kit -VAG 1594 C-

t	Key -U-40082-

t	Voltage tester -VAG 1527B-

Test conditions:

l	Battery voltage at least 11.5 V

l	Ignition off.

Checking sequence

–	Extract the connections of the glow plugs.

–	Connect the cable from the diode to the (+) positive battery terminal using the pincers from the auxiliary measurement set.

–	Apply the testing point of the diode to each glow plug, one by one.

Diode lights up: Glow plug okay.

Diode does not light up: Replace glow plug.

–	Fit the glow plugs using spark plug spanner -U-40082- to 15 Nm.
