Operation process
–  Fit the measuring gauge -VAS 6079- to the cylinder head using the Adjustment tool -VW 387-as shown in the Fig. and place against the crankshaft journal.
–  Press crankshaft against dial gauge by hand.
–  Set the dial gauge to „0“.
–  Push crankshaft away from dial gauge and read off value.
Axial clearance:
l  New: 0.07 ... 0.17 mm
l  Wear limit: 0.37 mm
