Fuel flow: checking
Check conditions:
l  Fuel pressure must be correct, check: → Chapter.
l  Injectors are installed in the fuel rail and the fuel line is connected.
–  Insert injector to be checked into measuring beaker from injection rate tester -V.A.G 1602-.
   
–  Using the auxiliary cables of the auxiliary measuring set -V.A.G 1594C-, connect the V.A.G 1348 remote control -V.A.G 1348/3A- to contact -5- of the fuel pump and to the (+) positive terminal of the battery.
–  Join contact -5- and contact -1- of the fuel pump using the auxiliary cables of the auxiliary measuring set -V.A.G 1594C-.

–  Connect a contact of the injector to be checked to the battery (+), using the auxiliary cables of the auxiliary measuring set -V.A.G 1594 C--1-.
–  Connect the second contact of the injector to engine earth, using the auxiliary cable of the auxiliary measuring set -V.A.G 1594 C--2-.
–  Activate remote control -V.A.G 1348/3 A- for 30 seconds.
–  Repeat check on other injectors. To do this use new measuring glasses.
–  After all injectors have been activated, place the measuring glasses on a horizontal surface and compare the injected quantity. Specification: 85 - 105 ml per injector.
When checking the injection quantity, also check the spray pattern. The spray pattern should be the same for all the injectors.
If the measured values of one or more injectors lie above or below the prescribed specifications:
–  Renew defective injector → Chapter.
