Part I Timing belt system - Assembly overview
1 - Upper protection element for the notched belt
2 - 20 Nm + retighten 1/4 turn (90º)
q   Replace.
q   Use camshaft immobilizer -T10016- to loosen and tighten
3 - Camshaft wheels
q   Observe position when fitting the toothed belt → Chapter
4 - Tension roller of the derived branch of the notched belt.
q   check → Chapter
q   Tension the notched belt. → Chapter
5 - Notched belt secondary branch
q   Mark direction of rotation before removing
q   Check for wear
q   Do not bend the belt
q   removing, installing and tensioning → Chapter
6 - Bracket
q   Depending on version
7 - 10 Nm
8 - Coolant pump
q   Completely replace in case of fault or leakage
q   Removing and fitting → Chapter
9 - Rear notched belt guard
10 - 20 Nm
11 - 50 Nm
12 - Idler roller for principal notched belt
13 - Principal belt tension roller
q   check → Chapter
q   Tension the notched belt. → Chapter
14 - Crankshaft sprocket
q   Observe position when fitting the toothed belt → Chapter
15 - Principal notched belt:
q   Mark direction of rotation before removing
q   Check for wear
q   Do not bend the belt
q   Notched belt routing → Fig.
q   removing, installing and tensioning → Chapter
16 - 12 Nm
q   Replace.
17 - Pulley
q   Note the attachment when fitting
q   Removing and fitting → Chapter
18 - Securing bolt
q   Follow the correct tightening order → Chapter
q   Replace.
q   The contact surfaces of the attachment bolt and the pulley must not have remains of grease or oil
q   Apply oil before fitting it (thread)
q   Secure the pulley with the counterhold -3415- to prevent it from turning
q   Tightening can be done in several stages
q   The torque angle can be measured with a Hazet 6690 torque or equivalent
19 - Poly-V belt
q   Mark direction of rotation with chalk or felt pen before removing
q   Check for wear
q   Do not bend the belt
q   Removing and fitting → Chapter
q   Poly-V belt routing → Chapter
20 - Notched belt guard - lower part
21 - Engine support
22 - 50 Nm
q   Replace.
23 - 25 Nm
q   Depending on version
24 - Idler wheel
q   Depending on version
