Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Tappet -T20035-, see equivalent → Anchor

t  Reamer -T20066-, see equivalent → Anchor
Removing
–  Before starting the operation, check whether the valve seating rings can still be reworked and, where necessary, the cylinder head seal surface. If not, the valve guides cannot be replaced.
–  Remove the worn valve guides through the camshaft side using the tappet -T20035-.
  Note
If the valve guides on the cylinder head are already fitted with a collar (repair), these must be removed through the combustion chamber side.
Fitting
  Note
Once the valve guide collar is supported, the insertion pressure should not exceed 1.0 t. If so the collar may rupture.
–  Oil the new guides and, using the tappet -T20035-, insert them into the collar on the cold cylinder head from the camshaft side.
–  Ream the valve guides using the reamer -T20066-. Use cooling lubricant for this.
