| Before starting the operation, check whether the valve seating rings can still be reworked and, where necessary, the cylinder head seal surface. If not, the valve guides cannot be replaced. |

| Remove the worn valve guides through the camshaft side using the tappet -T20035-. |
Note If the valve guides on the cylinder head are already fitted with a collar (repair), these must be removed through the combustion chamber side. |
Note Once the valve guide collar is supported, the insertion pressure should not exceed 1.0 t. If so the collar may rupture. |

| Oil the new guides and, using the tappet -T20035-, insert them into the collar on the cold cylinder head from the camshaft side. |

| Ream the valve guides using the reamer -T20066-. Use cooling lubricant for this. |
