Dismantling and assembling oil filter bracket: engine code AWC
  Note!
t  Hose connections are secured with either spring-type or clamp-type clips.
t  Always replace clamp-type clips with spring-type clips.
1 - O-ring
q   Push on to shoulder of pipe.
q   Renew if damaged.
2 - Connecting pipe
3 - T-piece
q   With non-return valve.
4 - Connecting hose
q   To connection on lower intake manifold.
5 - Pipe
q   For crankcase breather
6 - Securing clip
q   Check for secure seating.
7 - Plug, 15 Nm
q   If sealing ring is leaking, nip open and renew.
8 - Oil supply line
q   To turbocharger → Item.
9 - Banjo bolt, 30 Nm
10 - Seal
q   Renew.
11 - 1.4 bar oil pressure switch -F1-, 25 Nm
q   Identification: black
q   Checking → Chapter.
q   If sealing ring is leaking, nip open and renew.
12 - 15 Nm + 1/4 turn (90 °) further
q   Renew.
q   Turning further can be done in several stages.
13 - Seal
q   Renew.
q   Lubricate before installing.
q   Fit into lugs on oil cooler.
14 - Oil cooler
q   Ensure clearance to adjacent components.
q   Coat contact surface to oil filter bracket outside the seal with sealing paste -AMV 188 100 02-
q   See note → Chapter.
q   Coolant hose connection schematic diagram: engine code AWC → Chapter.
15 - 25 Nm
16 - Oil filter
q   Observe change intervals
q   Loosen with strap wrench.
q   Tighten by hand.
q   Observe installation instructions on oil filter.
q   See note → Chapter.
17 - Oil filter bracket
q   With pressure relief valve, approx. 4 bar
q   Ensure clearance to adjacent components.
18 - Plug, 40 Nm
q   If sealing ring is leaking, nip open and renew.
19 - Spring
q   For pressure relief valve, approx. 4 bar.
20 - Piston
q   For pressure relief valve, approx. 4 bar.
21 - Gasket
q   Renew.
22 - Non-return valve
q   Insert into oil filter bracket (no longer bolted to oil filter bracket).
