t  Components marked with * are checked via self diagnosis → Rep. Gr.01
t  Components marked with ** are checked via final control diagnosis → Rep. Gr.01
t  Secondary air pump relay -J299-** → Fig.
   
1 - Air duct
q   In cylinder head
2 - Gasket
q   Renew.
3 - Combination valve
q   Checking → Chapter.
4 - O-ring
q   Renew if damaged.
5 - Pressure hose
q   Check for secure seating.
q   Press together at front to release.
6 - Exhaust gas recirculation valve -N18-*/** with exhaust gas recirculation potentiometer -G212-
q   Checking exhaust gas recirculation valve -N18- → Rep. Gr.01.
q   Checking exhaust gas recirculation potentiometer -G212- → Chapter.
7 - Connector
q   Grey, 6-pin.
8 - Breather hose
q   To air pipe → Item.
9 - 25 Nm
10 - 10 Nm
11 - 15 Nm
12 - Retaining clip
13 - Connecting pipe
q   To throttle valve module -J338-
14 - Connector
q   Black, 2-pin.
15 - Bracket
q   For secondary air pump motor -V101-.
q   Attached to cylinder block.
16 - Rubber bush
17 - Secondary air pump motor -V101-
q   Checking → Chapter.
18 - Intake hose
q   Check for secure seating.
q   Press together at front to release.
q   From air filter housing → Rep. Gr.24.
19 - Connection
q   With mounting for combination valve and exhaust gas recirculation valve.

   
Relay for secondary air pump -J299-** - relay position 22 -
Relay is located on lower multifunctional unit relay holder.
  Note
t  If tools are necessary to pull relays or control units out of the relay plate, first disconnect battery earth strap
t  Before disconnecting battery earth strap obtain code for radios with anti-theft coding.
