t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-
  W00-0427
t  Spring-type clip pliers -VAS 5024A-
t  Hand-held drill
t  Drill bit, Ø 14 mm
t  Eye protection
Removing
–  Remove sound insulation tray → Rep. Gr.50.
–  Remove front bumper → Rep. Gr.63
–  Remove bracket for lower coolant hose.
–  Pull the air hoses off charge air cooler.

–  Unscrew hydraulic line for power assisted steering -1- at lock carrier -arrows-.

–  At points indicated with arrows, drill holes in lock carrier (use 14 mm Ø drill bit).
–  Unscrew charge air cooler securing bolts and remove charge air cooler.
Installing
–  Tighten charge air cooler securing bolts and hydraulic line for power assisted steering. Torque setting: 10 Nm.
Further assembly is basically the reverse of the dismantling procedure.
