t  Hand vacuum pump -V.A.G 1390-
Test prerequisite
l  Reduced performance or load change jolts
Test procedure
  Note
The overrun shut-off valve is located in front of the turbocharger. It is opened by vacuum during the overrun phase and idling.

–  Connect hand vacuum pump -V.A.G 1390- to vacuum connection on overrun shut-off valve.
–  Operate hand vacuum pump -V.A.G 1390-. Overrun shut-off valve must open -in direction of arrow-.
–  Operate hand vacuum pump -V.A.G 1390- breather valve. Overrun shut-off valve must close.
If overrun shut-off valve does not open or close, renew valve.
  Note
The overrun shut-off valve connections are secured with screw-type clips.
