Checking overrun shut-off valve > < Checking charge air pressure sender G31
Checking charge pressure regulating valve vacuum unit

Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Fault reader -V.A.G 1551- or vehicle system tester -V.A.G 1552- with diagnosis cable -V.A.G 1551/3C-
Test prerequisites
l  Engine oil temperature at least 60 °C
l  No leaks on intake and exhaust systems
Test procedure
   
–  Unbolt heat shield from bulkhead -arrows-.
–  Pull heat shield forwards slightly.

–  Pull 2-pin connector off charge pressure control solenoid valve -N75--arrow-.
–  Remove sound insulation tray → Rep. Gr.50.
  N21-0155
–  Start engine and increase to maximum rpm by flooring throttle. The charge pressure regulating valve operating rod -1- must move.
If the operating rod does not move:
–  Turbocharger defective. Renew turbocharger → Chapter, Removing and installing turbocharger with attachments.
–  Interrogate and clear fault memory → Rep. Gr.01
