Fuel supply, gas operation > < Coolant radiator, thermostat, 4/2 way valve with thermostat: Assembly overview
Pump for exhaust gas recirculation radiatorV400: Removing and installing.
Pump for exhaust gas recirculation radiator -V400-: Removing and installing.

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Base -VAS 6340-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Collecting tray -VAS 6208-, see equivalent → Anchor

Removing
–  Remove engine cover panel -arrows-.
  E10-10127
–  Release hose clips -arrows- and remove air hose.
  A21-10302
–  Disconnect connector -4-.
  WARNING
Hot steam/hot coolant can escape - risk of scalding.
The cooling system is under pressure when the engine is hot.
Cover filler cap on expansion tank with a cloth and open carefully to dissipate pressure.
–  Unscrew the bolt -2- and remove the pump for the exhaust gas recirculation radiator -V400- with the bracket.
–  Clamp off coolant hoses using hose clamps -3094-, release hose clips -1- and disconnect coolant hoses.
–  Remove bolts -3- and detach pump for exhaust gas recirculation cooler from bracket.
Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse order. Note the following:
l  Tightening torque → Chapter „Coolant lines, coolant temperature senders, coolant circulation pump: Assembly overview“
  Note
t  Hose connections and air pipes and hoses must be free from oil and grease before fitting.
t  Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Parts catalogue.
t  To ensure that the air hoses can be connected securely, you must spray the screw threads on used screw-type clips with rust remover prior to installation.
–  Install air hoses with screw-type clips → Fig..
–  Fill up coolant → Chapter.
