Removing
–
Remove engine cover panel
-arrows-

Disconnect connector
-arrow-
on exhaust temperature gas 4 -G648- from mount.
–
Unfasten quick release fasteners
-1 ... 3-
and detach noise insulation (front and rear).
–
Remove front exhaust pipe
→ Chapter
.
–
Support gearbox using engine and gearbox jack -VAG 1383A- and the gearbox support -T10337-.
–
First unscrew bolts
-1-
and
-2-
and then bolts
-3-
and
-4-
.
–
Lower the gearbox using engine and gearbox jack -VAG 1383A- as far as measurement

= 80 mm (maximum)

The exhaust gas temperature sender 4 -G648-

Disconnect cable strap

on exhaust temperature sensor 4 -G648-.
Installing
Reassembly is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
Tightening torque

Mount the cable of the exhaust temperature sensor 4 -G648- and fix with clamps

Note
Fit cable ties in the original positions when installing.

Lift the gearbox using engine and gearbox jack -VAG 1383A- and position the tunnel cross member on the body.

Always replace the bolts M12

, tightening torque: 110 Nm + 90º (is equivalent to a quarter turn).

Bolts M10

, tightening torque: 65 Nm.
