Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Release lever -80 - 200-, see equivalent → Anchor

Removing
l  Engine cold.
–  Open filler cap on coolant expansion tank briefly and allow residual pressure in cooling system to dissipate.

–  Remove the engine cover upwards -arrows-.
  E10-10085
–  Fit the centre noise insulation -fasteners 1 ... 3-.
–  Remove the air filter housing → Chapter.

–  Remove bolts -arrows-.
–  Free electrical lines and hoses on left air pipe using removal lever -80 - 200-.
–  Loosen hose clip -3- and press left air pipe with coolant pipe aside.
  Note
Disregard items -1-, -2-, -4- and -5-.

–  Pull connector -4- off coolant temperature sender -G62-.
  Note
Place a cloth underneath connection to catch escaping coolant.
–  Pull off retaining clip -3- and pull coolant temperature sender -G62- out of screw connection.
  Note
Ignore positions -1- and -2-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse sequence; note the following:

t  Renew O-ring.
t  Insert new coolant temperature sender -G62- immediately into union to avoid loss of coolant.
–  Check coolant level and top up if necessary → Chapter.
