Removal:
–  Remove the engine cover upwards -arrows-.
–  Remove the fuel filter → Chapter and the auxiliary fuel pump -V393- → Chapter
–  Removed toothed belt from camshaft and high-pressure pump → Chapter.
–  Remove the cylinder head cover → Chapter.

–  Remove the camshaft sprocket bolts -1-.
–  Remove the camshaft wheel from the hub.

–  Lock the hub with the Counterholder -T10051- and unscrew the securing bolts -1- from the hub.
–  Unscrew the securing bolt of the hub with approx. two turns.

–  Fit the extractor device -T10052- and align it with the hub holes.
–  Tighten the attachment bolts -1-.
–  Apply tension to hub by evenly tightening puller -2- until hub separates from taper of camshaft.
  Note
During this step, hold the extractor tool with a 30 mm wrench.
–  Remove hub from taper of camshaft.
–  Remove the vacuum pump → Chapter.

–  Remove securing bolts of retaining frame in sequence -24 … 1-.
–  Remove the bearing holder module.
–  Carefully take out camshafts.
