  Note
In engines for vehicles with direct shift gearbox (DSG), there should be a gear needle bearing fitted on the crankshaft. Fit it if necessary .
Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Puller -T10055-, see equivalent → Anchor with adaptor -T10055/3-, see equivalent → Anchor

t  Centring chuck -3176- or awl -VW 207C-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Puller, e.g. Kukko -21/2-, see equivalent → Anchor
  Note
Vehicles with dual clutch gearbox, the needle bearing must be installed in rear end of crankshaft.
Removing
l  Gearbox removed.
  W00-0085
–  Remove with a conventional extractor, e.g. Kukko -21/2--arrow-, adaptor -T10055/3- and the extractor -T10055-.
Installing
  Note
The lettering on the needle bearing must be visible when installed.

–  Drive in with drift -VW 207 C- or centring mandrel -3176-.

l  Needle bearing must be inserted to a depth of -a- = approx. 2 mm
