Removing and installing exhaust manifold t  Removing → Anchor. t  Installing → Anchor. Removing

–  Release quick-fasteners -1- and -2- and take off front noise insulation.

–  Loosen the bolts -1- and -2- by a few turns.

–  Release quick fasteners -arrows- and remove engine cover panel. –  Remove the air filter housing → Chapter.

–  Remove the front hose -2- from the pipe for the crankcase breather pipe. –  remove the hose -arrow pointing up- from the tube to the combination valve for secondary air. –  Detach heat shield -3-.

–  Remove bolts -1- and -2- on oil supply pipe. –  Unscrew bolts -3- for turbocharger. –  Detach the gasket between turbocharger and exhaust manifold. –  Seal opening in turbocharger with a clean cloth.

–  Unscrew all nuts -arrows- on exhaust manifold. –  Remove the washers and the exhaust manifold. Installing Reassembly is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:   Note t  Renew seals, gaskets and self-locking nuts. t  Take care that the sealing surface is clean. –  The following sequence must be maintained: 1 -  Exhaust manifold to cylinder head 2 -  Turbocharger to exhaust manifold 3 -  Turbocharger bracket to engine block 4 -  Turbocharger bracket to turbocharger Tightening torques Tightening torques
