| Safety precautions when working on fuel supply system |
WARNING | The fuel system is pressurised. Before opening the system place a cloth around the connection. Then release pressure by carefully loosening the connection. |

| Take the following measures before starting work on fuel supply system: |

| With ignition switched off, disconnect earth connection from battery. |
| t
| Briefly open filler cap for fuel tank to reduce pressure. |
| When removing or fitting components of full or partially full fuel tanks, note the following: |

| The fuel tank should only be partially full. From the job description it can be seen how much fuel the tank can hold. Empty the fuel tank if necessary. Procedure → Chapter |

| Before beginning work, place an extraction hose close to the opening in the fuel tank to extract escaping fuel fumes and switch on exhaust extraction system. If no exhaust gas extraction system is available, a radial fan with a displacement greater than 15 m3/h can be used providing that motor is not in air flow. |

| Avoid skin contact with the fuel! Use fuel resistant gloves! |
| When removing and fitting the fuel tank, take the following into account: |

| The fuel tank must be empty for the sake of weight. Empty the fuel tank if necessary. Flow → Chapter |
