Front and rear silencers: separating

t	In order to replace the front and rear silencers separately, the exhaust pipe can be cut at the marked point.

t	The cutting area is marked.

Check the tool and equipment equivalence table according to the applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Pneumatic saw -VAG 1523B-, see equivalent

t	Protective glasses

WARNING

Wear safety goggles and appropriate clothing to avoid injury caused by metal shavings.

–	Using the pneumatic saw -VAG 1523B- cut through exhaust pipe at the position -arrow 2- at right angles.

–	When installing, position clamp -4- on the lateral markings -arrow 1- and -arrow 3-.

–	Install the clamp so that the bolt end does not project over the clamp lower edge.

l	Screw thread must face rear

–	Align exhaust system cold and free of tension.
