Use engine oils which comply with standard VW 501 01. 502 00 or 504 00. → Booklet2.
   
Markings on oil dipstick
1 - max. mark
2 - min. mark
a - Oil level in the range of the MAX marking: Do not top up oil.
b - Oil level in the middle: oil can be added
c - Oil level in MIN. mark area: Add approx. 0.5 litre oil
