Separating centre and rear silencers
Separating centre and rear silencers
t  Work sequence → Anchor
t  Tightening torques → Anchor
t  The connecting pipe can be cut through at the point marked in order to renew the centre and rear silencers separately.
t  The cutting point can be identified by the impression on the circumference of the exhaust tube.
Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Chain pipe cutter -VAS 6254-, see equivalent → Anchor

Work sequence
–  Cut the exhaust pipe -arrow 2- with the chain pipe cutter -VAS 6254-.
–  When installing, centre the clamp -4- at the side marks -arrow 1- and -arrow 3-.

–  Install the clamp so that the bolt end does not project over the clamp lower edge -arrow-.
l  Screw thread must face rear
–  Install and align exhaust system free of stress → Chapter.
