Cleaning rules for working on the turbocharger, injection and fuel supply systems |
A little dirt may also cause faults. For this reason, when working on the fuel system and the fuel injection system or the turbocharger, meticulously respect the following cleaning rules: |
t
| Carefully clean connection points and the surrounding area with engine cleaner or brake cleaner and dry thoroughly before opening. |
t
| Seal off open lines and connections immediately with suitable protective caps. |
t
| Place removed parts on a clean surface and cover. Use only lint-free cloths. |
t
| Only fit clean components: Only remove the spare parts from their packaging immediately before fitting. Do not use parts that have been stored loose (e.g. in tool boxes etc.). |
t
| When the system is open, do not work with compressed air. Do not move the vehicle unless absolutely necessary. |
t
| Protect the unplugged connectors against dirt and humidity. They should be dry before plugging them. |
