Removing and installing thermostat Removing → Anchor. Installing → Anchor. Removing –  Drain coolant → Chapter.

–  Remove the air conduit cover by releasing the side tabs -arrows-.

–  Release the lower air duct by releasing the tabs -arrows-. –  Detach bottom section of air duct with air hose.

–  Release the hose clamp -2-. –  Remove bolt -4-. –  Disconnect electrical connector -arrow-. –  Unscrew bolts -1- and remove the air duct.   Note Disregard: -Pos. 3-.

–  Release the coolant hose -2- and the cable harness -1-. –  Unscrew the bolt -arrow- and remove the bracket.

–  Unscrew the bolt -2- on the bracket for the coolant pump -V51-.   Note t  The coolant pump -V51- remains in position. t  Ignore positions -1- and -arrow-.

–  Disconnect the coolant hoses -1 and 2- and put them to one side.

Engine code BYT –  Release the tabs by pressing, disconnect the hose from the crankshaft breather -arrow- and move to one side. –  Unscrew the bolts -1 to 8- and remove the coarse oil separator.

Engine codes BZB - CCZB - CDAA –  Remove bolts -1 … 9- and detach coarse oil separator. All   Caution Risk of lubrication system contamination. Cover the opening with clean cloths.

–  Release the nut -2-, unscrew the bolt -1- and move the intake manifold support slightly to the right.

–  Unscrew bolts -arrows- and remove connection. –  Remove the thermostat. Installing l  Tightening torques → Chapter Reassembly is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:   Note Renew gaskets and O-rings. –  Clean the sealing surface for O-ring. –  Coat O-ring with coolant, coolant → Electronic parts catalogue.

–  Insert the thermostat -4- into the housing -5- for the cooling pump and move it forward a little -arrow-. –  Carefully connect the connection hose -3- inserting the pin -2- into the guide -1-. –  Fit the coarse oil separator: Engine code BYT → Chapter; Engine codes BZB - CCZB - CDAA → Chapter. –  Install support for intake manifold → Item. –  Install continued coolant circulation pump -V51- → Chapter. –  Assembly of hose connections with couplings → Chapter. –  Fill up coolant → Chapter.
