General information about the ignition system
t  The engine control unit has a self-diagnosis capability.
t  For trouble-free operation of the electrical components a voltage of at least 11.5 V is necessary
t  Certain tests may lead to a deviation being detected by the control unit and stored. Therefore, after completing all checks and repairs, the fault memory must be scanned and erased, if necessary.
t  If the engine starts, runs for a short period and then stops, after fault finding, repairs or component tests, then the fault may lie with the immobiliser blocking the engine control unit. The event memory must then be interrogated and, if necessary, the control unit must be adapted.
