Safety precautions
Please note the following if test equipment has to be used during a test drive:
  WARNING
Risk of suffering an accident due to distraction and for not sufficiently tying down the tester units.
Risk of injury if the passenger airbag is triggered in an accident.
l  The use of test equipment while driving causes distraction.
l  There is an increased risk of injury if test and measuring equipment is not secured.
Always attach testers and measuring instruments to the rear seat with a strap and have them operated from there by a second person.
To prevent injuries to persons and/or damage to the fuel injection and ignition system, the following must be noted:
t  Do not touch or remove the ignition cables with the engine running or idling.
t  The ignition must be switched off before disconnecting or connecting ignition system wiring, high-voltage wires and test leads.
t  If you want to crank the engine at starting speed without actually starting it (e.g. compression test), first unplug the connectors from the ignition coils and the injectors. After completing the work, interrogate and erase the event memory.
t  Always switch off ignition before cleaning engine.
