Removing and installing ancillary bracket

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-

Removal:

–	Remove engine splash guard at bottom.

–	Remove poly V-belt → Chapter.

Note

The air conditioning system lines must not be opened.

–	Unscrew AC compressor and attach to lock carrier.

–	Ensure that lines are not kinked.

–	Undo bolts -1-, -2- and -3- and remove bracket.

Installation

–	Place ancillary bracket in place on cylinder block.

Note

Make sure the fitted sleeves in ancillary bracket are present and renew any missing ones.

–	First, tighten bolts -1- and -2- to 25 Nm.

–	Then, tighten bolt -3- to 25 Nm.

Tightening torque tensioner → Item.

Further assembly is basically the reverse of the dismantling sequence.
