Checking Injection quantity
Checking Injection quantity
Test prerequisites
l  Fuel pressure must be correct, check: → Chapter
l  Injectors installed in fuel rail and fuel line connected.
–  Place the injector which is to be tested into measuring glass of injection quantity tester -V.A.G 1602-.
   
–  Connect remote control for V.A.G 1348 -V.A.G 1348/3A- to contact -5- of fuel pump and battery positive (+) using adapter cables from auxiliary measuring set -V.A.G 1594C-.
–  Connect contact -5- on connector and contact -1- on fuel pump using adapter cables from auxiliary measuring set -V.A.G 1594C-.

–  Connect a contact of injector to be tested to battery (+), using test leads from auxiliary measuring set -V.A.G 1594 C--1-.
–  Connect 2nd contact of injector to engine earth using auxiliary measuring set -V.A.G 1594 C--2-.
–  Activate remote control -V.A.G 1348/3 A- for 30 seconds.
–  Repeat the check on all other injectors. To do this use new measuring glasses.
–  After all injectors have been activated, place the measuring glasses on a horizontal surface and compare the injected quantity. Specification: 85 - 105 ml per injector.
When checking the injection quantity, also check the spray pattern. The spray pattern should be the same for all the injectors.
If the measured values of one or more injectors are above or below the prescribed specifications:
–  Renew defective injector → Chapter.
