Removing and installing engine control unitJ623
Removing and installing engine control unit -J623-
When replacing the engine control unit
To replace the engine control unit, connect the vehicle diagnostic tester and complete the guided function „Engine control unit: replace“.
Removal:
–  Switch ignition OFF.
   
–  Unlock the engine control unit connectors and pull them off .

–  Press clips -arrows A- outwards and pull control unit out to side -B-.
Installation
–  Fit the new engine control unit and insert it pushing to the left.
–  Plug in the connector and engage it in socket.
–  If engine control unit has been renewed, clear learnt values and adapt engine control unit → Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051„Guided function“.
–  Consult fault memory; if necessary, repair any faults and then erase fault memory → Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051„guided fault finding“
–  If the fault memory has been erased, you must generate the readiness code again.
–  Perform road test.
–  Again read control unit fault memory.
