Removing and installing catalytic converters with front exhaust pipe
Removing and installing catalytic converters with front exhaust pipe
Removing:
–  Remove the air filter housing → Chapter.
   
–  Disconnect connector for Lambda probe -G39--arrow- and lay cable to side.

–  Remove nuts (accessible from above) -arrows- securing front exhaust pipe to turbocharger.
–  Unscrew nuts (accessible from below) securing front exhaust pipe to turbocharger.

–  Unscrew nuts -arrows- and pull underbody cover down a little.

–  Separate electrical connection -arrow- on left of underbody.
–  Remove electrical connector from bracket and lay electrical line to Lambda probe to side.

–  Separate catalytic converter / silencer connection on flange -arrows-.

–  Unscrew the holder of the exhaust system -arrows-
  Caution
Risk of damage to the vibration damper section!
Do not bend flexible joint in front exhaust pipe more than 10°.
–  Remove catalytic converters with front exhaust pipe.
Installing:
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
t  Coat studs of turbocharger with high-temperature paste -G 052 112 A3-.
t  Renew seals, gaskets and self-locking nuts.
t  Align the exhaust system so it is free of stress → Chapter.
Tightening torques → Chapter
