–
| Remove the oil pressure switch -F1-, and screw it into the tester. |
–
| Screw the tester into the oil filter bracket, in place of the oil pressure switch. |
–
| Connect the brown wire of the tester to earth (-). |
–
| Connect the voltage tester -V.A.G 1527 B- with the auxiliary cables from the measuring tool set -V.A.G 1594 C- to positive of battery (+) and to the oil pressure switch. LED should not light up. |
–
| If the LED lights up, replace the 1.4 bar oil pressure switch -F1-. |
If the LED does not light up: |
–
| Start the engine and increase the revolutions: The LED must light-up between 1.2 - 1.6 bar. If this is not the case, replace the oil pressure switch. |
–
| Increase engine speed further. At 2,000 rpm and an oil temperature of 80°C, the oil must have a min. pressure 2.7 ... of 4.5 bar. |
At higher engine speeds, the oil pressure must not exceed 7.0 bar. |
If the specifications are not met: |
–
| Check if the strainer in the oil suction pipe is dirty → Item. |
Note Insufficient oil pressure may also be caused by mechanical faults, e.g. damaged bearings. |
If specification is exceeded: |
–
| If necessary, replace oil filter bracket with pressure relief valve. |
