Removing and installing engine control unit

Note

To replace the engine control unit, connect the central diagnosis -VAS 5051B- and complete the guided function „Replace control unit“.

Removal:

–	Switch ignition OFF.

–	Remove the plenum chamber cover: → Bodywork, exterior fitting work; Rep. gr.55.

–	Open the lock slightly -1-.

–	Then remove the engine control unit from the support -arrow-.

–	Release and unplug the connector on the engine control unit.

Installing

–	Fit connectors to engine control unit and lock in position.

–	Fit the engine control unit onto the retention plate.

–	Fasten the lock -1- onto the engine control unit.

–	Fit the front plate of the plenum chamber and the plenum chamber cover → Bodywork, exterior fitting work; Rep. gr.55.
