Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Cooling system leakage check -VAG 1687-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Adjustable adaptor -VAG 1687/10-, see equivalent → Anchor
  W00-10327
–  Remove intake hose -1- from air filter.
–  Attach the adjustable adaptor -VAG 1687/10- to the intake hose-1- and and fix it with a clamp.
Prepare the cooling system leakage check -VAG 1687- as described below:
  N21-10146
–  Completely unscrew the pressure regulation valve -2- and close the valves -3- and -4-.
  Note
In order to unscrew the pressure regulation valve -2-, the rotary button must be completely upwards.

–  Connect the cooling system leakage tester -VAG 1687- to the adjustable adaptor -1687/10-.
  N21-10146
–  Connect the compressed air hose -1- (compressed air supply) to the cooling system leakage tester -VAG 1687-.
  Note
If there is water in the inspection hole, drain it through the drain screw -6-.
–  Open valve -3-.
–  Set the pressure to 0.5 bar using the pressure regulation valve -2-.
  Caution
The pressure must not exceed 0.5 bar. Excessive pressure may cause damage to the engine.
–  Open valve -4- and wait until test circuit is full. If necessary reset the pressure to 0.5 bar.
–  Check the tightness of the charged air system by listening, touching or using a leak spray.
  Note
t  If a leak is found, consult the notes on the supercharge system for the fitting work to be done → Chapter.
t  Before removing the adaptor, depressurize the inspection circuit by releasing the coupling of the adjustable adaptor -1687/1-.
