Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Counterhold -T20174- or Pliers -T20029-, see equivalent → Anchor
  W00-2456
Removing
–  Drain coolant → Chapter.
–  Unplug electrical connector -2- at air mass meter -G70-.
–  Disconnect the breather hose -1- and the air conduit hoses -3- and -5-.
–  Screw out bolt -4- and detach air cleaner housing.

–  Disconnect the connection element -2- from the group of hoses on the solenoid valve block; to do this, press on the release button.
–  Disconnect the vacuum hose -1- on the oil retention valve for the brake servo.

–  Unscrew bolts -1- and -3-.
–  Release the vacuum conduits on the rear tube of the air conduit.
–  Disconnect the hose -2- from the crankshaft sump breather on the air duct.
–  Cut the spring type clip -4- using the support tool -T20174- and disconnect the air duct from the rear connection on the turbocharger.

–  Disconnect the coolant hose -1- from the exhaust gas recirculation valve.
–  Disconnect the coolant hoses -2- and -3- from the exhaust gas recirculation radiator.
–  Disconnect the vacuum hose -4- from the pressure chamber for the mechanical exhaust gas recirculation valve.
  A26-0738
–  Unscrew bolts -2- and -6-.
–  Unscrew bolts -1-, -3-, -4- and -5-.
–  Remove the exhaust gas recirculation radiator.
Fitting
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removing, when doing this note the following.
  Note
t  Always replace seals, gaskets and self-locking nuts.
t  Secure all hose connections with the correct hose clips (same as original equipment) → Parts catalogue.
–  Fill up coolant → Chapter.
Specified torques .

1)  Renew nuts.
