Basic adjustment of residual flow intensity
Basic adjustment of residual flow intensity

The adjustment screw for the residual flow intensity -arrow- normally should not be adjusted.
With this screw, the manufacturer regulates the residual flow intensity on the pump testing platform.
If the screw is adjusted this could give rise to the following problems:
t  Screw to tight = excessive residual flow intensity
In this case, the engine speed increases and it is not possible to adjust the idle speed.
t  Screw too loose (vacuum control lever action) = insufficient residual flow intensity.
Faults occur when the vehicle is running, for example a “lull” when a gear is selected and when accelerating at low engine speeds, as well as jerking in all gears.
If any of these problems are encountered, proceed as follows for the basic adjustment of the residual intensity flow screw.
  V22-1286
–  Remove the counter nut from the adjustment screw -arrow-.
Insufficient flow intensity residue: (problems with the behaviour of the vehicle)
–  Turn the adjustment screw in until the engine idle speed begins to increase.
–  At this moment, unscrew the adjustment screw by a half turn.
Excessive flow intensity residue: (engine speed too high)
–  Unscrew the adjustment screw until the engine speed is stable.
–  Turn the adjustment screw again inwards until the engine idle speed begins to increase.
–  At this moment, unscrew the adjustment screw by a half turn.
–  Tighten the counter nut to the limit.
