Read the measurement value blocks

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Fault reader -V.A.G 1551-

t	-V.A.G 1551/3B- cable

Note!

t	The equipment -V.A.G 1552- may be used instead of the -V.A.G 1551-, however in this case the results cannot be printed.

t	Presently, in the measurement block, only the following values may be read in the indication group 01:

Test conditions

l	Refrigerant liquid temperature, 80 °C minimum

l	All consumer electrics should be connected, for example: the lights and the heated rear window

l	For vehicles fitted with air conditioning, the air conditioning should be disconnected

l	There should be no recorded faults already in the memory → Chapter.

Verification process

–	Connect the equipment -V.A.G 1551- (-V.A.G 1552-) and, using the corresponding “address code” 41, select the diesel pump electronic control unit. While doing this, the engine must be running idle → Chapter.

Display indication:

–	Press the keys 0 and 8 for the function “Read measurement block values”, confirm using the key Q.

–	Press the keys 0 and 1 for “Indication group 01” and confirm using the key Q.

Display indication:

–	Read the idle engine speed in the indication field 1.

Theoretical value: 900 ± 30/min

–	Do not observe the supply time indicated in the indication field 2 (it is not the theoretical value).

–	Read the valve connection time for the commencement of the injection cycle, indicated in the field 3.Theoretical value: Control unit with green point 40...48%. Control unit without green point: 27...44%

–	Read the supply rate, indicated in the field 4.

Theoretical value: 3...12 mm³

–	If the theoretical values do not appear in the fields 3 and 4, replace the injection timing sender -G175- ersetzen → Item.
