Checking oil level in Haldex coupling
Test requirements
l  When applying, the temperature should be between 20 ℃ and 40 °C.
l  Vehicle level.
t  The oil temperature can be achieved by running the engine warm.
–  Connecting the central diagnosis -VAS 505X-
–  Select „Running gear (Rep. Gr. 01; 40 - 49)“ on the display.
–  Select „All-wheel drive with Haldex coupling“ on display.
–  Select „01 - Self-diagnosis-capable system“ on display.
–  Select „All-wheel drive Haldex“ on display.
–  Select „Electrical components“ on display.
–  Select „Oil temperature“ on display.
Vehicles with cross member:
   
–  Cover cross member with cloth.
Any oil which may reach the cross member or the grooves on the cross member must be removed carefully.
Checking oil level
–  Position a drip tray -VAS 6208- under final drive.

–  Unscrew oil filler plug -arrow-. (For illustration purposes here shown with final drive removed.)
The oil level is correct if the oil level in the Haldex clutch reaches the lower edge of the control hole.
–  Screw in plug and tighten. Tightening torque: 15 Nm
