Removing Haldex coupling

Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Drip tray for liquids -VAS 6208-

t	Torque wrench -VAG 1331-

–	Disconnect exhaust system at clamp -arrows- and remove rear part of exhaust system → Rep. gr.26.

Note

The flexible pipe connection (de-coupling element) of exhaust system must not be bent more than 10 ° - otherwise it can be damaged.

–	Separate the rear section of the cardan shaft:

t	Propshaft, Altea XL 2009 ►, Altea XL Freetrack 2008 ►, Altea XL Freetrack 2009 ► → Chapter.

–	Disconnect the connector -2- on the four-wheel drive control unit -J492-.

–	Position a drip tray -VAS 6208- under final drive.

–	Unscrew the drain plug-A- and allow the high performance oil for Haldex clutches to drain.

–	Fit drain plug -A- with new seal and tighten to 30 Nm.

–	Unscrew the attachment bolts -arrows- and separate the Haldex clutch from the rear final group.
