  WARNING
To avoid risk of accident on test drives, observe the following safety precautions:
For reading out the measurement blocks, use only the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 505X-. The unit must be attached to the rear seat and operated from there by a second person.

–  With ignition switched off, connect the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System -VAS 505X--1- to the vehicle diagnosis connector using the diagnostic cable, 5 m -VAS 5051B/1- or the diagnostic cable, 3 m -VAS 5051B/2--2-.
Installation location: In the front left footwell.
Starting „Guided fault finding“:
–  Switch on ignition.
–  Press the „Guided Fault Location“ button on the display.
–  Then select in succession:
t  Brand
t  Model
t  Model year
t  Variant
t  Engine identification symbols
–  Confirm input data.
Wait until the tester has interrogated all the control units in the vehicle.
–  Press Goto button and select „Select function/component“ function.
Follow the instructions in the display to begin with the desired functions.
